I was looking for a special spot near Fort Worth to host an off-site staff retreat for my team and La Palmilla was hands down the perfect place to do it. The rooms and casitas are fully equipped with everything we needed to run a productive retreat as well as rest and relax. Once you’re here it’s hard to believe you’re just 45 minutes from the city. This place was a perfect retreat for the weekend. We went down to the river and the kids swam and fished for hours. The landscaping is immaculate. The breakfast Saturday (bacon, eggs, biscuits/gravy) was such a nice touch. It is really close to downtown Glenrose, which is a charming area to spend a few hours. Our kids are past the dinosaur days, but if you have younger kids, this would be a great home base to spend a few days looking at Dino’s! This is really peaceful place to escape for a weekend.

La Palmilla is the BEST Glen Rose hotel and we will only stay here! My daughter loved the pool and my mom loved the casita. I loved the chapel at sunset and dinosaur fossils. Everything is ultra comfortable and the luxe amenities with resort vibes at great prices are unbeatable. La Palmilla is also perfect for weddings, retreats, group or corporate events, and girls weekends in Glen Rose. The service was outstanding and they proactively communicated every detail of our stay and practiced extreme hospitality. The rooms are as beautiful and spacious as any 5 star hotel I’ve visited. Beautiful hotel and event/retreat location less than an hour outside of DFW, this spot is amazing. Wonderfully friendly staff, stunning sunsets, and quiet comfortable rooms make this spot a dream. We had 6 adults and one infant in a three bedroom casita, and everyone was shocked at how quiet and comfortable the rooms were. My 76 year old father normally gets up like clockwork at 4:30am. He didn't wake up until 10am! My sister's boyfriend and I ended up staying up until about 1:30am chatting on the back porch, and nobody inside our own casita ever heard us. Even inside with a 6 month old infant, the only people that ever heard him cry were the people in the same room as him. It is clear they have spared no expense on this property, and have been VERY thoughtful in the execution.As others have mentioned, the chapel is beautiful, and the indoor/outdoor cantina is inviting and cozy. The whole time I was there it felt like a different world. I kept expecting to look out and see either impassable mountains or a jungle...it just feels like a small, secluded village.Other highlights, include, fly fishing on the Brazos (the property has river frontage), the secure pool area, and two laps around the property get you about 2.5 mile jog without ever leaving the property.I can't wait to go back!
